Golden Eagles look impressive through first week

Overview:

The Golden Eagles have gotten off to a hot start over the first three games of their 2019-2020 campaign. Coach Domnick has been able to consistently come up with widely successful game plans that go on to result in consistent blowout wins for the group. One of the major factors and storylines that are beginning to take place is the impact that young players are having on the team this season. This emergence is coming mainly from forward Alex Littlejohn and guard Carter Reid. Despite this, the impact that star senior Tanner Mans is having on his team remains largely the same this season. He is continuing to show how much of a playmaker he is for this team, as well as his ability to be a force on the fast break. .

          12/6 @ North: Win 61-31 over North

Description:

The Golden Eagles were able to come up with a big victory to get their season off to a solid start against the North Redskins. This seemed to serve as a coming out party for the talented junior duo of Carter Reid and Alex Littlejohn, who combined for 34 of the teams 61 points, with 16 of those points coming from Carter and the other 18 coming from Littlejohn. Littlejohn was also able to put a double-double onto the stat sheet with 11 rebounds to go on top of his 18 points. Tanner Mans was the next highest scorer with a total of 8 points on the night. He was also able to put up 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

      12/10 @ BC: Win 64-29 over South

Description:

The Golden Eagles were able to come up with their second victory of the season with a dominant performance against the South Titans. It was a balanced attack led by the stellar performance by senior guard Brenyn St. Vrain. He was able to produce 18 of the team’s 64 points resulting in him being the team’s leading scorer on the night. The team’s balanced attack was evident with only one player ending with less than four points on the night. The Golden Eagles will need to continue to put on these types of stellar performances if they want to continue their guest to bring a state title back to Bishop Carroll come the end of the season.

12/13 @WSU: Win BC 68-46 over Andover Central

 Description:

This was the most emphatic performance that the Golden Eagles have had so far this season with 4 individual players scoring in double digits. Junior Luke Larkin was able to put up his first double digit performance with a total of 11 points on the night. Brenyn St. Vrain led the team in scoring for the second game in a row, putting up a total of 17 points along with 2 rebounds. Tanner Mans and Alex Littlejohn both put up a total of 16 points on the night. Tanner was also able to pull down a total of 6 rebounds. Alex Littlejohn was also able to produce his second double-double of the season with his 11 rebounds to go with his 16 points

Going Forward:

Head Coach Mike Domnick will continue to look for his group of talented juniors to continue to make plays for his team, as well as continuing to develop into stars as they as they continue to build towards their senior season. He will also be looking for his group of seniors, led by Brenyn St. Vrain and Tanner Mans to continue to lead their team and make big plays for his team.

Looking Ahead:

The Golden Eagles will be given a light schedule over the next week with just one Game against East. They will then not be playing until their showdown against West on January third. West could present a surplus of challenges for the Golden Eagles such as attempting to slow down star guard Jaylin Henderson. The Golden Eagles will be using this extended stretch of downtime to grind the tape and look at what they can improve on as they move into their mid-season stretch.
