Homecoming week is here, and so is the manic panic it brings. In addition to dress down days, the upcoming bonfire, parade, and dance, Powderpuff practices started last night in preparation for Wednesday’s game.

Ask anyone who was here last year, and they can talk all about the miserable loss suffered by the Class of 2018. They will say the beginning was bad but the ending was worse, that they did not even come close to scoring, and that they think the score was upwards of 30-0. It seems that everyone — this year’s seniors, anyway — is trying their darnedest to block it out of their memory.

Unfortunately, Class of 2018, this year the Longsnap Ladies may be marching straight into another such game.

The juniors started running drills and planning plays straight off the bat last night, while the senior class took a slightly less enthusiastic approach. At least six seniors sat the bench, and most were more focused on Ms. Logsdon’s new Beagle, Chaucer, than on football.

The Juk’em Juniors are also feeling skeptical about a win, and believe the game is “rigged.”

Juk’em Juniors Head Coach Jackson Nichols reports that Ally Vonfeldt is currently QB1 after last night’s practice, and that Bella Hohl may be their best running back.

Longsnap Ladies Head Coach Joe Rohleder said he thinks Emma Henning and Kayleigh Hulsey are possible quarterbacks for two different offenses, but that the coaching staff was unsure of who to put in which position as of last night.

“I hope we score,” said senior Heidi Asmussen.
