Inside the Huddle with Joe Rohleder: Time for revenge

Week 5: Derby Panthers

It’s revenge time. Last season Derby blew us out, but that’s not going to happen this time. Everyone on the team is excited for this game. Coach told us at the beginning of the week that we have to go harder at practice. The energy has changed since then and everyone flies around and goes much harder. In the last two days of practice we have had to face some adversity. The recent storms have made us move inside and because volleyball practices right after school, we have had to practice at Sluggers. It’s been tough practicing there because it’s a touch small for a football team of almost ninety, but it is better than not being able to practice at all.

Now looking at Derby. On the offensive side, the usual change has happened to our NASCAR and wristband plays. Green light has also been added to our set of packages. This package was added to utilize our receivers’ height so both Cade Becker and Clay Cundiff are in as receivers. Seeing that Derby does not have lots of height in their defense and we have taller receivers we should have an advantage in the passing game. This week’s game against the Derby Panthers is another away game, but that won’t stop us from playing our best on Friday night so make sure to come out to Derby and cheer on your Golden Eagles.
