Bishop Carroll: 1-0, Salina South: 0-1

Players to Watch

A player to look out for is Desmond Smith. (Smith is pictured above) Desmond is starting in his second varsity game, after missing last season with a knee injury. In the season opener last Thursday, Smith put on a show for the Eagles with 21 carries for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the opposing Salina South side, a player to watch will be senior  quarterback Casey Lanoue. He will provide Carroll’s “Gang Green D” with a challenge as he likes to run the ball, scoring the Cougars lone touchdown of the season last week with a 1 yard rush against Valley Center.

Team Preview

Bishop Carroll: Coach Trail picked up an exciting win last week at NW as the Eagles rallied in his first game in charge.

Salina South: Salina South is not predicted to have a strong season, as “Wichita Eagle’s” Taylor Eldridge predicts that they may only go 2-6, which would be an improvement from their single win season they had last year.

In last year’s match-up, Bishop Carroll got the win over Salina with a score of 40-14.

Game Prediction

Defensive Coordinator Jim Nance expects the defense to improve from Week 1 as well as the entire team to progress as a unit as the season advances. Overall, Carroll will need to be on its toes to make Coach Trail 2-0 on his career. SCORE PREDICTION BC= 42 SS= 21

Game X-Factor

An X-Factor in the Friday night face off will be Salina South’s home town crowd. The Eagles will have to stay strong and not let the noise get to them.
