Student Reviews: Back To School Dance

Members of the Flyer Staff reflect on the Back To School Dance, 2017

I can sum up the back to school dance this year using three words: moist, mosh pit, and memorable. Technically that’s four words but it was still a blast. I would guess there were around 800 students present at the dance and everyone was in the midst of a shoving war to have the best spot on the dance floor. The DJ played some pretty rad jams so everyone was busting out their best dance moves. In every direction I looked people were smiling and it made for a fun, animated atmosphere.   – Addie Duling

The Back to School Dance is always exciting. The new school year aroma gets us all pumped. Groups are planning in advanced. T-shirts get better and better every year. It is the event of the year not to miss. This year’s dance had everything and more. In my experience I was in the Jammie Junior group. We met before and had breakfast at someone’s house. The dance itself was fantastic. The DJ played just the right songs and got the whole gym thrilled. Staying till the end of the dance was definitely worth it. This is a dance I will never forget.  – Brooke Martin

If I had two words to describe the BTSD it would be memorable and sweaty. In my personal opinion the BTSD is the most enjoyable dance of the year. This is the one night that everyone can let loose and forget about all their troubles. It’s the night for seniors to make fool of themselves, for the shorty’s to get crushed in between the mobs of people, and for endless amounts of dance circles for people to do their craziest moves. The DJ was on fire and played some pretty lit music. I mean, what’s better than jumping up and down with your BFF’s fist pumping! – Grayce Barrientos

The back to school dance of 2017 was one of the best yet. A combination of the sweat, music and, dancing made the dance what it is known for. The DJ’s showed their stuff and played a new playlist of upbeat songs. Everyone seemed that they were having a great time and many noticed the new songs added on the playlist. Overall this was the best back to school dance. – Adam Birch

If I had to describe the back to school dance I would say that it is one of the highlights of high school. It is such a blast to just be with your friends and have a ton of fun. Although it was very sweaty, smelly and sticky, and my hair kept getting caught in people’s arm pits, it was an absolute blast and I was so sad that it had to come to an end. It was an amazing way to jumpstart this school year and I am definitely looking forward to the rest of the dances. – Brayden Steven
