Carroll softball took home two wins against North with scores of 21-0 and 22-0 on Tuesday night at TRYC to bring its record to 17-1. The softball team has been a tough team for many years, and this year is no different.

“I think that the team’s chemistry, struggles, and understanding the situations that we are facing is what makes us so strong as a whole,” said sophomore catcher Ally Vonfeldt.

The girls on the team are known for their big plays and being able to make tough situations count and work in their advantage. Tuesday night was no different.

“The biggest play of the night was Emma Eck’s play at shortstop. The ball was hit deep in the 5/6 hole and I thought for sure it was a base hit. Emma came flying over to get the backhand behind third base with a throw over her shoulder to second to get the force out,” said sophomore Hadley Kerschen.

Not only do the Eagles have successful defense, but the team is able to prove they are well rounded at the plate as well.

“We have solid bats all the way through the lineup. Our goal this year is to hit doubles. We are looking for line drives through the infield and we are doing a really good job with it. We keep a tally and have kept a running total throughout the year. Our bats are really strong this year,” said Coach Katie Barrientos.
