Golden Eagles keep rolling after long Christmas Lay-off

Overview:

The Golden Eagles (ranked second by MaxPreps) returned from their extended Christmas break and reeled off two quick wins, moving their win streak to six. One of the things that got the team to this point is the exceptional leadership that Tanner Mans has put forth during his senior season. He was able to put up over 20 points in the team’s last two games against Northwest and West. It seems like he is beginning to find his footing and he is beginning to carve out a large role for himself on this team.

@ West Pioneers: Win 68-28

The Golden Eagles were able to come up with a dominant win against the 2-6 West Pioneers (ranked 24th by MaxPreps). Despite a valiant 15-point effort put forth by the Pioneers leading scorer Jalin Henderson, the Pioneers did not have nearly enough to outduel the dominant arsenal that the Coach Domnick-led Golden Eagles possess. The leading scorer for the Golden Eagles was unsurprisingly star guard Tanner Mans, who was able to compile a total of 23 points on 12 field goal attempts. The Golden Eagles also received a pair of 11-point contributions from senior Seth Larkin and junior Carter Reid.

@Northwest Grizzlies: Win 68-33

The Golden Eagles were once again able to come up with a dominant performance, this time against the Northwest Grizzlies (ranked 18th by MaxPreps). The Northwest Grizzlies struggled to get almost anything going on offense with their leading scorer, Eastyn Ruffin, only being able to compile 10 points on 12 field goal attempts. Meanwhile, on the other end of the court, the Golden Eagles were able to get three of their players into double digits. Senior Tanner Mans was able to compile 20 points on 12 field goal attempts. The Eagles other senior guard, Brenyn St. Vrain, was able to get 12 points and junior forward Alex Littlejohn was able to come up with a total of 11 points on the night.

@Southeast Golden Buffaloes: Win 79-45

The Golden Eagles were able to cap off the week with another 30-plus point victory against the Southeast Golden Buffaloes (ranked 22nd by MaxPreps). Tanner Mans was the team’s leading scorer with a total of 19 points on the night. It was also a big night for the junior class as it had three players score in the double-digits. Alex Littlejohn was the second leading scorer with 16 total points on 12 total attempts from the field. Fellow junior Carter Reid was able to compile a total of 12 points. The fourth and final double-digit scorer was Enrique Langford, who was able to come up with 14 total points by the end of the game.

Looking Forward:

The Golden Eagles will have a big week this week as they participate in the next chapter of “The Holy War” as they have a Friday night matchup against the rival Kapaun Crusaders. The Crusaders currently have a 7-1 record. The Golden Eagles will have a big challenge attempting to contain extremely talented forward Blake Danitschek. Danitschek has a total of
