The Kansas Humane Society allows you to become a foster parent to the animals that are staying in the shelter. Being a foster parent means you are fostering animals that are sick or under socialized. I had the opportunity to go over to Chollet Bucl’s house and foster a puppy for a day.

Five things to know before fostering a puppy:

  1. They have baby teeth and LOVE to bite everything. Make sure to have lots of toys readily available.
  2. They don’t get the concept of fetch. Be Patient.
  3. Each puppy has different backgrounds and needs.
  4. Have a friend available to lend a helping a hand. Lots of responsibility comes with this task which your friend can help you with.
  5. Don’t forget to have fun!
