For a Photojournalism assignment, Sarah Brittain shot portraits of Kindel Nordhus and asked her a few questions. Check back for more “Getting to know” features in the future. 

Q. What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also like to run because it keeps me in shape.

Q. What is your favorite movie and why? Without a doubt The Greatest Showman. The music and the characters are so great! I also like Hacksaw Ridge…I’m kind’ve a sucker for war movies. 

Q. What is your biggest fear? My biggest fear would have to be drowning or getting stranded in the ocean. I don’t think I would ever go on a cruise because of that.

Q. What is a fun fact not a lot of people know about you? I like chocolate chip cookies without the chocolate chips. The cookies are definitely a lot better that way.

Q. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would love to go to Ireland! The scenery and weather are beautiful year round and I really want to hike the Cliffs of Moher. 

Q. What is a food you have never tried but would want too? I would want to try crickets. I’ve heard that they taste like chicken, so why not!

Q. What is your favorite kind of food and why? My favorite kind of food is Italian because I love my carbs! I also like Chinese food – lo mein is so good.

Q. What is your favorite condiment to add to food? If it’s salad, I’ll add ceasar dressing. Otherwise I like honey mustard. 

Q. If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be and why? I would want to have lion. It would definitely be an outside pet, but it would be so cool to have around!

Q. What strange food combinations do you enjoy? A weird food I like to eat would be cottage cheese and chips. It’s a good combination – just try it!
