You Know What’s Up When You Hear Three Words: Are you excited?

Alli Gregg

Realizing that you have to go back to school after a nice and relaxing summer can cause several different emotions to…erupt out of you. These emotions can be good or bad, but either way they definitely let us know what time of year it is. Ones that commonly appear for me are guilt, because I probably promised Mr. Davidson I would keep up on my math, and I definitely don’t know where the book is, excitement that I can finally show all my friends (and maybe even a cute boy) my glamorous new haircut, nervousness, due to the fact that I will have to fake, once again, that I know where I’m going around here, and finally dread. I am not a morning person, and I never will be.

One thing the students at Carroll, including me, will probably never admit to out loud is that we are secretly excited to go back to school. Meeting new teachers, getting new material to try to wrap our brains around, and getting to finally be superior to the class we once were are all major highlights for going back to school. The year may be long, the grind tough and exhausting, but we all know that school is a part of us, and a new part is beginning.
