Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte, America’s swimmer recently lied about being robbed while in Rio for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

He originally told the authorities that a man pointed a gun at him and told him to “get down”. He claims they took his wallet and money but left his phone and his credentials.

However, Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz told authorities that the story Lochte told was “fabricated”.

Lochte claimed, “I wouldn’t make up a story like this nor would the others. As a matter of fact, we all feel it makes us look bad. We’re victims in this and we’re happy that we’re safe.”

Many claim that Lochte created the story because he wanted to cover up his bad actions. On Saturday night, the night of the alleged robbery, Lochte was supposedly in a fight with a security guard while trying to use a gas station restroom.

Many believe that Lochte and the two other men owe Rio an apology. Lochte now says that the gun was not pointed at his forehead, but just in his direction. He also says that they got robbed at the gas station rather than when their taxi got pulled over.

Ryan Lochte has apologized for “not being more careful and candid in how I described the events of that early morning”.
