Bishop Carroll Leadership Team is putting on the annual Leadership Workshop on Monday at St. Francis of Assisi.
The Leadership Team consists of Kylee Mernagh, Mary Kate Cundiff, Jake Allen, Ethan Lopez, Byrnn Maul, Maddie Beck, Ben Samway, and Braden Howell.
Mrs. Aubrey Logsdon, the team sponsor, is confident in this year’s team. “I feel like the team is very well rounded this year and work well together,” she said.
The workshop will begin with 8 a.m. Mass followed by a series of activities and small groups lead and overseen by the leadership team. The day will end with a question and answer session with the administration.
Mrs. Sarah Cundiff, Newman’s Director of Alumni Relations, will be the guest speaker at the workshop. The leadership team is hoping to give a fresh approach to this year’s workshop by tying all activities back to the “social change model,” a method of leadership that Mary Kate Cundiff brought back the Advanced Leadership Academy she attended in Washington, D.C.
Among the many skills the leadership team aims to give Bishop Carroll students, confidence and knowledge are the main focus. “I hope that the workshop provides students with confidence to be leaders,” says Kylee Mernagh.
Cundiff hopes to pass on what she has learned about leadership, saying, “I want to give students a greater knowledge of the importance and a better understanding of leadership.”
This is exactly what Bishop Carroll leaders, like Robin Bradfield, are looking for. Bradfield, an attendee of this year’s workshop says, “I hope to receiver a better understanding of how to lead my peers.”
Mrs. Logsdon is excited to give students the tools they need to lead the Bishop Carroll Community. Logsdon says, “The workshop’s goal is to help form student leaders and provide students with a leadership network.”
