On Tuesday of Homecoming week, students walked into their future professional lives. Many students threw on their parents’ scrubs in hopes to follow them in the medical field. Other common costumes were stay-at-home parents or gym teachers, merely because of the comfort of the costume’s sweat pants and T-shirts.
However, some students showed a unique flair. When asked what profession she dressed up as, Alyssa Cooke replied, “I am the Queen of England.” Although she is slightly perplexed at how she will become England’s next Queen despite her American citizenship, she is most excited about the crown itself. “I want to be the Queen of England because I get to wear a crown.”
Other students, like Marie O’Neal, have planned a more humble future. O’Neal sees herself as a professional lifeguard at the Mulvane City Pool. When asked about her future, she simply replied with a sharp whistle blow. Then there are the students that plan to pursue a “one-of-a-kind” profession, Anna Dold being one of them. “I’m a professional puddle jumper,” says Dold. With Polka dotted rain boots, a green and gold umbrella, and a parka, Anna is most excited about the childish years to come. She says, “I’m like a really big kid.”
From the soon-to-be wealthy nurses and doctors to our future Queen of England, Bishop Carroll appears ready to make it big in the real world.
