It looks as though a lot of elderly people will be missing a good chunk of their closet today, as Carroll’s first day of Homecoming Week is Senior Citizen Day.
When Mackenzie Hirschler was asked where pulled she pulled her outfit from, she replied, “My grandma’s closet.”
Students and faculty alike can be found caning, or walking through the halls – literally, with walkers – sporting muumuus, peppered grey wigs, crocheted sweaters and pocket-watches. The student body was transformed from regular uniformed teenagers to robed and fanny-packed senior citizens.
Students like Kylie Keahey stuffed pillows inside their outfits to create allusions of larger behinds.
“My inspiration was Goodwill and my Grandma,” she said.
Some students have even been adopting attitudes of their elders today.
“Now what channel is ESPN? Can you pass the poppy seed dressing?” said Seth Law, in reference to his grandpa.
