Every year we wake up at 5 a.m., pack all our luggage, and get on the road. We travel six hours to Beaver Lake in Rogers, Ark. As everyone gets to the lake house, it is a race to get the cars unloaded in enough time to be the first one to jump into the lake.

As the day goes on, and I feel the sun on my face, I’m not thinking about school, or work, I’m thinking about how much fun the next week will hold.

The lake is my favorite place to let all of my worries go, and have fun with the 21 of my closest friends around me. The next day, I go out early and tube, wakeboard, swim, jump off cliffs, and have fun with the friends I am with. The best part of going to the lake, to me, is being with the people you care about the most.

The second best thing, is tubing. I get the water in my face, the wind in my hair, and adrenaline in my veins. I hit a wave, fly in the air, and hang on for dear life not wanting to fall off. I land back on the water and realize I’ve successfully held on and my ride continues.

I am done tubing and go back to be with everyone else, out of breath, and tired. The day is winding down and I head back to the lake house racing to get to the showers first. After that, I maybe play some board games and head to bed. But I have one thing on my mind, doing it all again tomorrow.

What to pack for a trip to the lake
