The Bishop Carroll graduating class of 2017 gathered Thursday on the football field for the annual senior barbeque. This event is something that the senior class looks forward to every year as one of the last gatherings before graduation. It is a time to have fun with friends, play games, enjoy food, and come together as a family to make some lasting memories.

As you first walk in to the stadium, you see many students eating, laughing, and socializing together. There are many games like can jam, soccer, football, and corn hole that many are enjoying together.

“My favorite part was hanging out with my friends and being able to beat all the guys in soccer knockout,” said senior Tess Lubbers.

Not only is the senior cookout a chance to make new memories, it is also a chance to reflect on the past, and what the seniors will miss most about Carroll.

“I never thought I’d miss the people in my class, but I’ll miss the people that I have been close with that I won’t be able to see. Thinking about the barbeque being on the last day of school and being the last time I’ll see most of these people makes it real,” said senior Madi Miller.

Not only do the seniors realize this is one of the “lasts” for the class of 2017, the staff is also looking back on the year and what they will miss most.

“The way the seniors interact with each other is something I will miss. It’s just all around a good group of students as far as being wide ranged. They all get along very well together and it’s great to see as a chaplain,” said Father Sam Brand.
