Compared to the overwhelming participation in Senior Citizen Day, the spirit shown for today’s theme, Future Profession Day, is subpar to say the least.
According to today’s outfits, around 60 percent of Carroll students aspire to become nurses or doctors of some sort. Another significant chunk of the student body apparently want to be homeless, judging by the large amount of sweatpants seen in the halls. Although the majority of the school is sporting scrubs or glorified pajamas, there are some definite creative outfits among the masses. For example, Sydney Lashley, a junior, is dressed in an astronaut suit complete with NASA patches and pins from several different countries. Sophomore Maddie Beck sports the entirety of a cop costume. Alec Clark, a junior, is dressed as America’s very own Donald Trump, toupee and all. Shelbie Stuckey plays the role of a gym teacher, with a sweatband and many ‘gold medals’ to make her outfit most convincing. These few creative outfits create a little bit of comedy among the monotonous atmosphere due to many students slacking off in the creativity of their outfits. Grade B.
