Drew Davis: Whether you’re ready to dominate in powderpuff, head over to the bonfire that evening, tackle the inflatable course at the parade, lose your voice at the game on Friday, or get dressed up for the dance Saturday, the week has something for almost anyone and everyone to enjoy. So my advice is to get pumped. (Don’t be afraid to look dumb, you’re practically guaranteed to have more fun that way.) You only get four high school homecoming weeks in your life, so why not make them count?
Emily Demel: Next week is the week of all weeks, the one we look forward to all year: homecoming week. Not only do we get to dress down four of the five days (this year the themes being senior citizen day, tourist day, future profession day, bass pro shop day, and of course ultimate pride day) but the activities outside of school as well make for a fun filled, eventful week.
Grace Buessing: Throughout high school, students are constantly asked what they want to be when they grow up. Well, this year’s homecoming week gives kids a chance to explore their future job profession desires. I think Tuesday, Future Professions Day, will be the most interesting out of the week. Just think about all the jobs out there! You could take a more traditional route and be a doctor, a lawyer, an electrician, a teacher or an engineer. Maybe you could also mix it up a bit and be farmer, a maid, a business owner, or a cosmetologist. If you’re feeling a little frisky you could be a Rodeo clown, Stuntman, acrobat, contortionist, snake milker, glass blower, Bingo Manager, lego artist, golf caddie, avalanche forecaster, elephant trainer or even a Horse Exerciser. The opportunities are endless. So use this week to your advantage, mix it up a little, and enjoy yourself.
Morgan Werth:“Mom, I’m going to GoodWill. I’ll be home in time for dinner.” This phrase will soon be sweeping the Bishop Carroll community. With Homecoming week around the corner, students bring out all the stops to their creativity. On Monday, the Bishop Carroll campus will look like a retirement home due to Senior Citizen day. Tuesday we take a look into the future of the students with Future Profession Day, then Wednesday Tourist day. On Thursday students accessorize the uniforms with items you may find at Bass Pro Shop. And last but not least, a sea of green and gold will flood the school for the classic Ultimate Pride Day. Homecoming Week always has the much appreciated “try-hards” as well as the I-don’t-wanna-wear-my-uniform sweats and t-shirt look. I imagine the staff and students alike are looking forward to how far the students will go to make their mark on Homecoming Week 2015.
Raeley Goebel: Homecoming week really is all about what you make it. If you choose not to get involved, then it will almost be like a regular school week. Instead, take advantage of the craziness and excitement and make this homecoming week as fun and memorable as it can be!
